The Opportunity:

We are looking for a talented and experienced Social Media Director to manage, grow, and generate significant engagement, revenue, and new customers through Legion’s and Mike Matthews’ social media accounts. You will be responsible for creating and implementing long-term strategic plans, creating original text, working with photographers and videographers to get high-quality photo/video content, and managing posts across all social platforms. You will manage Legion’s and Mike’s respective images in a cohesive way to achieve their marketing goals, including consistently increasing their followings, engagement, revenue, and new customers. As a Social Media Director, we expect you to be up-to-date with the latest digital technologies and social media trends. You should have excellent communication skills and be able to express Legion’s messaging and Mike’s views creatively.

The goal for the position is to achieve significant growth of our presence and engagement across social platforms, while maintaining a top-class brand image for Legion and Mike with a consistent voice and aesthetic. This will be accomplished by helping create high-quality content that garners millions of responsive and highly engaged followers across the various social media networks, bringing tens of thousands of new customers to Legion each year.

Who You Are:

We are looking for a candidate who is excited to help Legion and Mike grow their social media presences in a way that enables them to reach audiences more effectively and, in turn, contribute to Legion’s rapid growth. This candidate will be expected to meet the following qualifications:

Proven work experience as a social media director for a brand and/or fitness personality
Knowledge of, and interest in, evidence-based health and fitness principles
Experience in creating and executing long-term social media strategic plans
Excellent writing and communication skills (a keen eye for editing written content)
Ability to deliver high-quality and aesthetic creative content (image and video) in collaboration with photographers, videographers, and designers
Solid knowledge of Google Analytics
High attention to detail
Adept at multitasking and prioritizing projects
Experience using social media marketing tools, such as Sprout Social, Meltwater and Pulsar
Experience using image design and editing software and tools like Canva, Lightroom, Colourtone, Preview and/or similar tools

What You'll Do:

You’ll manage and collaborate with Legion’s Social Media Manager to ideate and execute on the below:

Create and follow weekly/monthly content calendar
Work with Mike and photographers/videographers to create and deploy authentic and on-brand content on all major social media platforms (FB, IG, YouTube, Twitter, Pinterest, etc.)
Maintain key statistics (engagement, following, revenue, and new customers)
Collaborate with other teams (e.g. marketing, sales, and customer service) to ensure brand consistency
Oversee community management tasks, such as responding to comments & DMs
Create visual & aesthetic consistency across all brand platforms
Stay informed on new features, technologies, and trends to help constantly improve our social media presence
