Legion Ascend Ingredients (2,180 milligrams per serving)
Alpha-GPC (300 milligrams per serving)
Alpha-glycerophosphocholine (also known as alpha-GPC and glycerophosphocholine) is a compound of two molecules: choline and glycerophosphate.
Choline is a nutrient that’s vital for brain health and function, and glycerophosphate is a substance found in the membrane of neurons (nerve cells) that helps transport choline to the brain.
When ingested, alpha-GPC increases the activity of a chemical in the brain known as acetylcholine, which is used by nerves to communicate with each other and provides the brain with glycerophosphate, which can improve its health and function.
Research shows that supplementation with alpha-GPC . . .
The clinically effective dose of alpha-GPC is between 150 and 1,200 milligrams, with 250 to 500 milligrams sufficient for cognitive benefits and higher doses required for affecting dementia.[10]
Avena Sativa (800 milligrams per serving)
Avena sativa is a plant whose stem and leaves have long been used to treat psychological maladies such as insomnia and anxiety.
Research shows that it positively influences brain function in a variety of ways, which is why studies show that supplementation with Avena sativa . . .
Boosts cognitive performance and “mental fitness” (even in people with compromised cognitive function)[11][12]
Increases executive function (controlling your mind and behavior)[13]
Enhances spatial working memory (short-term memory of information related to locations)[14]
Reduces the negative effects of multitasking on cognitive performance[16]
Research also shows that while a single dose of Avena sativa can provide benefits, results may improve with continued use.[17][18]
The clinically effective dose of Avena sativa is between 800 and 1,600 mg, with most of the benefits occurring at the lower end of this range.[19][20]
Uridine Monophosphate (250 milligrams per serving)
Uridine monophosphate is a compound of two molecules: uridine and phosphoric acid.
Uridine is a substance known as a nucleotide that’s involved in the production of the genetic material ribonucleic acid (RNA) and that supports and enhances the growth and function of neurons (nerve cells).[21][22]
Phosphoric acid is a substance that helps the body create phosphatidylcholine.
While human research on uridine is currently sparse, the data we do have suggests that it can . . .
The clinically effective dose of uridine monophosphate hasn’t been established yet, but 250 milligrams is the human equivalent of what has produced benefits in animal research.
Bacopa Monnieri (330 milligrams per serving)
Bacopa monnieri is an herb that has long been used in traditional Ayurvedic medicine to aid memory and treat various neurological disorders.
It contains substances known as bacosides that stimulate the secretion of two types of chemicals in the brain known as brain growth factors (brain-derived neurotrophic factor or BDNF, and nerve growth factor or NGF), which help neurons connect, grow, and proliferate.
Research shows that supplementation with bacopa monnieri . . .
The clinically effective dose of bacopa monnieri is between 200 and 400 milligrams depending on its bacoside content.
Agmatine (500 milligrams per serving)
Agmatine is a chemical produced by the brain and found in some fermented foods.
It helps protect neurons (nerve cells) against damage and interacts with the pain and pleasure pathways in the brain.
While human research on agmatine is currently sparse, the data we do have suggests it can enhance the activity of serotonin in the brain, which can enhance mood and reduce the depressive effects of stress.[37][38]
The clinically effective dose of agmatine hasn’t been established yet, but the nootropic range appears to be between 1.6 and 6.4 milligrams per kilogram of body weight, or 110 to 440 milligrams for a 150-pound person.[39]
No Artificial Food Dyes, Fillers, or Other Unnecessary Junk
Artificial food dyes and fillers may not be as dangerous as some people claim, but studies show they can cause negative effects in some people, including gastrointestinal toxicity and behavioral disorders.[40][41][42][43][44]
That’s why we use natural coloring derived from fruits and other foods as well as naturally derived ingredients for enhancing shelf life and facilitating the manufacturing process.

To support cognitive health and performance, supplement with one serving of Ascend every day, preferably with food. You can take a full serving all at once or split it into two equal doses taken several hours apart (we recommend that you try both ways and see which you like best).
How does Ascend compare to other popular nootropics?
Ascend differs greatly from other nootropics because rather than directly stimulating your brain to work harder, it provides it with nutrients and compounds that help it work and grow more efficiently and robustly.
In this way, Ascend isn’t a “short-term study aid” so much as a long-term cognitive enhancer.
What kind of benefits can I expect from taking Ascend?
When you first start taking Ascend, you may notice a slight increase in alertness and improvement in mood.
The real reason to supplement with it, however, is the cumulative effects that develop after several weeks of use, which can include improvements in working memory, information comprehension, and mood stabilization.
You can also expect other nootropics that act more directly and thus aren’t in Ascend to work better with Ascend than without it.
Why doesn’t Ascend contain ingredients found in many other nootropics like huperzine-A, vinpocetine, and phosphatidylserine?
Our primary goal with Ascend was to create a brain booster that worked more like a “brain vitamin” than “brain stimulant,” and that meant excluding certain compounds that provide immediate beneficial effects but then backfire after you stop taking them.
For example, while huperzine-A may be beneficial for cognition, it remains in the body for quite some time and thus shouldn’t be taken every day. By excluding huperzine-A from Ascend, then, it remains safe for daily consumption and gives you the flexibility of “stacking” it with huperzine-A once or twice per week if desired.
We passed on many other compounds because they were either too acute acting (stimulants and neurotransmitter precursors like 5-HTP and L-DOPA, for instance) or, as in the case of phosphatidylserine, didn’t believe the costs justified the benefits.
Why doesn’t Ascend contain racetams?
As interesting as these compounds are, they’re also synthetic drugs and not allowed in supplements per the Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act of 1994 (DSHEA).
Are there any side effects I should know about?
While Ascend is a rather “low-risk” nootropic due to its focus on supporting optimal brain health and function as opposed to stimulating it into overdrive, there are still potential side effects.
The major one is studies show that bacopa monnieri can cause some intestinal distress. If this happens to you, then take Ascend with a small meal, ideally containing some fish oil like Triton, and some dietary fiber.
Beyond that, it’s possible that agmatine may make you less confrontational in general. This is only a theoretical side effect but is still worth mentioning for those of you who value your aggression. :-)
Do you need to “cycle” Ascend?
No.
Think of Ascend as a multivitamin for your brain, providing it with a steady supply of vital nutrients that not only improve general health and function but also enhance the effects of other nootropics that do need to be cycled, like huperzine-A and L-DOPA.
Will I build a tolerance to Ascend?
No.
That said, if you are one of the individuals who gets a bit of stimulation from the first dose of CDP-Choline, then that effect may fade in time (but not its general benefits).
Will I experience withdrawal effects if I stop taking Ascend?
While it’s theoretically possible for Ascend to produce withdrawal effects, since it provides benefits slowly over time, any such effects would be minimal if even noticeable at all.
As Ascend can enhance the effectiveness of other nootropics, then it’s possible that it could magnify their withdrawal effects. This is uncertain and possibly even unlikely, however, since some components of Ascend were included to prevent this scenario.
Does Ascend contain caffeine?
No, it contains no direct stimulants of any kind.
You may notice an immediate increase in focus due to the CDP-Choline, but this poses no threat to cardiac conditions.
What does the Prop65 warning on the labels mean?
Our products include a Proposition 65 warning in compliance with California’s regulatory guidelines, which are among the most stringent and sweeping in the world.
A Proposition 65 warning does not indicate whether a product is safe or unsafe. Rather, Proposition 65 is a consumer notification law in California that requires warnings to inform consumers about the presence of one or more of over 900 substances in various types of products. These substances include naturally occurring and ubiquitous compounds, even when present at levels below those known to cause harm.
Is Ascend gluten-free?
No.
Ascend contains Avena Sativa, which contains wheat.
Is Ascend vegetarian friendly?
Yes.
None of the ingredients are derived from meat.
Is Ascend vegan friendly?
No.
Nothing in Ascend comes directly from animals or animal products, but the Alpha-GPC may come into contact with animal products during processing, and so therefore it’s not 100% vegan-friendly.
Some popular nootropic supplements contain the right mix of high-quality ingredients. Some provide clinically effective doses. Some don’t have any unnecessary junk. But only Ascend checks each of these boxes.

Because shipping a single item is surprisingly expensive.
So blasted expensive, in fact, that on a small order, the shipping cost alone can eat up all of the profits.
However, the economics change dramatically when you bundle, because adding a second or third item to your order costs us very little extra to ship.
And once your order hits the $99 mark (a few items), the math works out, and we can cover the entire shipping cost for you.
Why the $199 minimum purchase amount for free shipping?
To quench our piggish lust for grubby profits in the eternal service of the dread lord Mammon?
Kind of. But not really. Because here's the truth:
Single-item orders are so blasted expensive to ship that we make very little profit on them. And no profits make the bean counters lose their marbles.
But when you order just one more item, it only costs us a few dollars more to ship both of them to you. Add a third item, and it's just a few more shekels to ship.
And that allows us to make a profit. Which keeps the bean counters happier than a hammer in a nail factory.
So, if it pleases your Grace, we humbly request your mercy and patronage notwithstanding the vexing free shipping minimum.
